Latest Hair Test Results – Finally Out Of ‘Four Lows’

After 18 months of following the Nutritional Balancing program I have finally dragged myself out of the awful ‘four lows’ situation. I may again drop down to ‘4 lows’ to deal with more issues but results are inevitably going in the right direction. I still find the program very hard to follow and i’m happy if I can do 60-70% of it. This is no doubt the hard way to get better but it’s the only way I know about for now, and perhaps also the best. I’ve been guilty of searching for quick fixes but usually this has just delayed my recovery.

The longer I do NB, the more i gain confidence in it. It has taken me so long to really understand how it works. The diet, saunas, coffee time and supplements etc all work together to get great results. There are so many other products out there now claiming to do wonderful things and this is exactly what sick and vulnerable people want to hear. Please don’t chop and change products and continually search the internet. It’s stressful and only adds to your recovery time. Do your homework first before adding any extras to the simple but proven Nutritional Balancing program.

Below are my latest results and accompanying audio file:

Magnetico Sleep Mat

My Magnetico diary / review is at the bottom of this post.. (and also March 2017 update at bottom of post , I’m back on it!)

After researching magnetism and it’s potential health benefits I decided to try it out for myself. I’ve bought a lot of products over the years that haven’t worked so the decision to purchase this was well researched. The science behind it certainly made a lot of sense to me. I purchased a 10 Gauss core pad. If I have some success, perhaps I will upgrade to the 20 Gauss.

A simple explanation of how these work is that the earth’s current Gauss level is .5 or half a ‘Gauss’. So a 10 Gauss mat will increase the earth’s vital magnetism level by 20 times. The higher the level, the more optimally our billions of cells work. Cells are restored to optimal efficiently. Earth’s magnetism is slowly decreasing over time. Perhaps this one reason there are so many chronic health issues in today’s modern world.

magnetico review

These sleep pads are placed under the mattress, not on top.

They are not the same as many other magnetic type products that basically act as constant magnetic-acupuncture. Apparently this is not recommended because, long term, it stimulates the body in an unhealthy way. It would like having acupuncture all night, every night, and this is not how acupuncture was designed to be used. And there has to be a gap of at least 4 -5 inches between you and the magnets.

The inventor, Dr Dean Bonlie, has some very interesting videos online. Search for –  Dr Dean Bonlie Magnetico Beds for more in-depth information.

This is my journal:

23rd Nov 2014: I had been warned the first days and possibly weeks could be tough going and this has been proved right. My whole body feels like it is recovering from a workout at the gym. Some fatigue, weakness with a sort of numbness. Something is definitely is going on. It’s hard to describe but it’s almost like a full body buzz type feeling. Not a good buzz, but not a bad buzz. And I haven’t done any exercise or lifting so it must be the sleep pad. I wake up hardly being able to move but this clears as I get up and move around.

I’m very lethargic and don’t really want to do anything. I feel like lying down but I’m not sure whether I want to lie down on my bed and feel even more lethargic. My mood is good, it’s certainly not getting me down. I’m taking it day by day and doing very little else during the day. Certainly no exercise physical work, which I can’t do much of anyway.

I will consider using a heavy metal chelator, DMPS, to help clear any toxins released from the magnetic therapy. But certainly not at high doses as I have only tolerated a tiny dose of 5mg in the past.

DMPS can cause a lot of suffering all by itself so this isn’t something to play around with when you don’t know how powerful it is.

29th Nov 2014: I’m 11 days into this trial and today is the worst I’ve felt. My symptoms align with what I was told may happen, which was Weakness, Agitation, Fatigue and Tingling.

One thing is for sure – the Magnetico sleep pad is definitely causing this. It’s certainly doing something. It’s good news but also not so fun. I just want to lie down but I feel better if I keep moving slowly. I also do stretches and daily coffee enemas which help a lot. I don’t feel strong enough to go to my part time job which isn’t demanding at all. I can expect to feel like this for  2 -3 weeks so I hope to hang in there and manage. If I continue to worsen, I will take my 10 Gauss mat and put it under the bed which will decrease the strength.

30th Nov – Day 12: After yesterday, I decided to try doing a round of DMPS chelation to ease the detox effects. I think this worked because I woke up feeling better when I felt that I was progressively getting worse. I will continue to do the DMPS chelation ’round’ per Andy Cutler’s protocol. 5mg is all I can tolerate at the moment, so I take 5mg every 8 hours for 3 days.

Chelation isn’t something you just try without knowing exactly what you are doing because you can really hurt yourself. Search online for ‘andy cutler living network chelation’ where there is a lot more info. They sell DMSA, DMPS and ALA and are located in South Africa. DMPS also pulls out good minerals so those have to be replaced with supplements.

I feel that the worst is over with my new Magnetico but we will see what tomorrow brings. I’m happy with progress but there is a fair way to go before I can say it’s been a success.

6th Dec – Day 20: I can only assume that healing is taking place because I have to be very careful about how much I do each day; even more so than I used to. If I do anything physical, I feel the effects the following day. It feels like the healing process is requiring a lot of energy, and if I do anything else, I pay for it. So for the time being, I have to be patient.

16th Dec – (1 month) – Similar symptoms all month. Waking up very sore and stiff but clearing quickly. I’m flushing my kidneys with good spring water and doing coffee enemas most days. This helps. The flu-like symptoms are manageable but I’m looking forward to them decreasing in severity. I seem to have 2 or 3 rough days and then 1 good day which makes me feel like I’m dong the right thing. Mentally, I’m good.

26th Dec – I’m taking a break from the mat. It’s been nearly 6 weeks and I’ve decided to take a few days off to see how I feel. It’s been a tough 6 weeks and the heaviness and fatigue has got to me. I need to clear my head as much as possible and rethink my strategy with this powerful mat. Perhaps I will bounce back well – only time will tell. I haven’t given up on it, I just want to experiment without it. Maybe then I will replace it on the floor so it’s not so demanding. I’m getting very little done and always seem liverish / grumpy. I just need a break.

12 January 2015 – I’m still not using the mat because I believe it will just make me feel worse. So for the moment, I have no plans to put in back on my bed. I am wondering how after 6 weeks it could have made made worse. What didn’t help was that I continued to do things I probably shouldn’t have.

When my body was saying ‘rest’, I had a part time job to go to and there were summer activities like going boating that I probably should have said ‘no’ to. This has been the hardest thing to manage. Do I go boating and enjoy myself, but suffer for it, or do I sit and home and just wait for the fatigue to go. There is only so much sitting at home I can do before I get frustrated, so I find managing it all very difficult.

Perhaps the mat detoxed some toxins but I wasn’t strong enough to excrete it. Or perhaps I overdid things when I should have been resting more. I really don’t know. Hopefully I will regain some energy and decide to use the mat again. Without knowing what exactly is happening when sleeping on the mat, making a decision about what to do next is hard.

I don’t regret trying it but I’m far from convinced that it can help me. I would suggest to anyone to really think about how it could help before buying. And be prepared to give it months before seeing results. It’s very tempting to commit to something that claims it can do certain things. I believe in this mat and what it can do but for me, I need a lot more time with it.

March 2017 Update

Yes, I’m pleased to say I’ve been using the mat without any side effects for many weeks now and I’m feeling confident about continuing to use it.

It’s hard to believe I first attempted using it 2 years ago and I was so weak it actually was too powerful for me. In hindsight I should have put it on the floor and persisted.

After some intense gut healing work, I now feel much stronger and over the hump that I just couldn’t get over for 10 years at least. I’ve been enjoying this improvement for nearly 2 months so see no reason why I should go backwards. The thought of going back to how i was last year after doing over 40 rounds of chelation with DMPS and DMSA is awful. These chemical agents work well in most cases but can be too tough on some sensitive / severe cases such as mine.

I will no doubt be able to handle them sooner than later but will not be touching them anytime soon. I’m happy with some EDTA and clay/charcoal mix to soak up the toxins while i sleep. I continue to improve and will report back her in another couple of months. The Magnetico mat still makes sense to me and I hope it’s doing it’s job for me.

Perhaps if I’d been taking a binder 2 years ago I may have been able to tolerate it. I think it stirred things up and my body just could not process it at the time. I can’t say yet whether i think it’s essential to a proper long term detox program but time will tell. Hard to prove but hopefully I get a gut feeling on how much of a role it played. Like a lot of these detox health products, it’s trial and error.

Visual Contrast Sensitivity Test for Neurotoxins

If you suspect you may have some sort of neurological issues going on then completing a Visual Contrast Sensitivity Test online, might be worthwhile. Website link below.

This test screens for the presence of effects potentially caused by bio-toxins, including Post-Lyme Disease. It can also serve as a baseline test for future reference.

Diagnostics Process: (quoted from their website)

“Many people are chronically ill due to the presence of biotoxins in their system that they are unable to naturally eliminate. Chronic, biotoxin-induced illness is only now beginning to be recognized by the medical community. Many patients have had previous diagnoses that did not recognize the underlying cause of illness in these individuals. These diagnoses included Chronic or Post-Lyme disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, sick building syndrome, depression, multiple chemical sensitivity, multiple sclerosis, Bell’s palsy, sensory-neural deafness, irritable bowel syndrome, low vision, chronic soft tissue injury, learning disability and endometriosis. Other diagnoses such as chronic Ciguatera seafood poisoning, Possible Estuary Associated Syndrome, poisonous spider bites, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (endogenous toxin) and mycotoxicosis were thought to involve biotoxins, but there was no known effective treatment.

The diagnosis of chronic, biotoxin-induced illness is based on biotoxin exposure potential, multiple system symptoms, the VCS deficit, and no other reasonable explanation for the illness. Since there are usually no tests available to identify the toxins in human tissue, proof of the cause of illness is VCS recovery and symptom resolution following treatment with our protocol, particularly compelling in chronic illness cases.”

There are free preliminary tests before deciding to do the visual test. Prices start at US$15.

Water – A Whole Food

I completely underestimated the role water plays in recovering from any chronic illness. It’s a cornerstone of good health.

I finally switched to Spring Water after drinking filtered tap and rain water. If you want to give yourself every chance of reaching peak health, you have to be drinking great water. One reason I put off drinking spring water was using the plastic and the possible of toxins leaching. That is the lesser evil; your health is the number one priority right now.

Rain water is slightly acidic at around ph6.5. Our blood is ph7.4 so ideally you want your water to match or be above that. PH drops are not a match for pure spring water. I use a local spring water in New Zealand. Any decent spring water should have the magic ingredients of Magnesium, Calcium, Sodium, Silica and Bicarbonate, etc.

If you have choices, try different brands. Beware of a detox effect if you switch to a relatively high PH water compared to what you have been drinking. I experienced 3 weeks of weakness, fatigue, runny nose before things settled down. I had never tried spring water in all the years I had been ill, so perhaps this was quite literally, some spring cleaning going on. If a particular type of water makes you feel rough, then that might be a good thing. Be patient with the re-balancing period.

Spring WaterI use a 15 liter container which seems to work out best. Continually buying smaller bottles would be too frustrating. I fill a smaller plastic bottle if I’m heading out for the day.

I would not use alkaline water machines or PH drops to boost low PH water. The best water would be somewhere local to you where it is as pure as possible. It might be called Artesian or Mineral water. Check what is in it and how it is processed.

The less manipulation and filtering, the better. This ‘pure’ water has various trace minerals that are crucial for optimal healing and general health.

As for tap water that contains fluoride and chlorine, I steer well clear of it. If you cannot source spring water then a decent chlorine filter will have to suffice, but always be on the lookout to improve it. Hunt around for the better water filters.

Does the The ‘Lightning Process’ Work? – Not for me.

I gave the Lightning Process everything I had but unfortunately it didn’t work for me.

Because I signed a contract saying I would not disclose the process to anyone else, I cannot go into too much detail here. The Lightning Process is a simple ‘procedure’ that one completes every time they don’t feel ‘well’. So you might be walking down the street and you feel unwanted symptoms, so you stop and do the procedure. This is basically designed to snap you out of whatever unhelpful habit you had unconsciously perfected. The Process re-trains your mind to stop going down that negative path. It has similarities to Neuro Linguistic Programming.

I had read various success stories and really believed that this could be the solution for me. My trainer was Ian Cleary from Australia. He was always very helpful when I was struggling to make any headway and I couldn’t have asked for a better trainer.

Part of the theory is that constant negative thoughts and poor decision making over-stimulate the adrenal glands and eventually creates chronic symptoms. This made sense to me at the time and I’m recovering now (4 years later) because I’ve learnt how to not react to situations I used to react to. It’s basically a behavioral change that I didn’t even know I needed. Or I did realise I had to change but didn’t know how. And it’s very easy once you know how. So a completely different method is working for me and I would say 100% of people would get some benefit from this knowledge.

Back to the LP. When you decide to start doing the process, you have to commit to doing it every time you don’t feel well, so I had to do it all day which was pretty full on. I was continually doing it for most of the day, perhaps a hundred times and this is not unheard of. I gave it 100% but I actually started to get even more mentally exhausted to the point where I was starting to really suffer and deteriorate. The intense concentration was mentally breaking me down so I felt I had no other option but to stop.

This was very disappointing so after a week or two off and chatting to Ian about where I could be going wrong, I decided to give it another go but the same thing happened. After a third time a few weeks later I decided that it probably wasn’t going to work for me at this stage.

It amazed me that some people that were in wheel chairs did the process and then could go travelling around the world or do whatever else they wanted to do. I wondered why I couldn’t make any progress and came to the conclusion that I was too exhausted for my engine to get ‘jump started’. I was ‘four lows’ according to the metabolic hair tests which meant my tissue mineral levels were extremely low. I understood that these levels usually took months to increase so any other program that was known as a relative ‘quick fix’, probably wasn’t going to be that effective. I also think that the initial virus I got, damaged my nervous system or brain because my mental ability and stamina decreased. The concentration required was too much.

So for me, I had to do it the long and difficult way. The upside is that I am learning a lot about myself. There is no way I would have become much wiser and self-aware if the Lightning Process had worked for me. For whatever reasons, I feel that I needed to do what I am currently doing. I’m glad it turned out like this. The two programs could not be more opposite.

I would like to hear from anyone else who had experience with the Lightening Process.

Dr Jacques Imbeau

Dr Imbeau is a dentist but also has an alternative medicine practice. He uses quality supplements which include homeopathics. Dr Imbeau uses a form of Biofeedback, called Autonomic Response Testing. The results from this machine are interpreted by Dr Imbeau and a program is produced.

He provides a metabolic programme based on naturopathic and homeopathic principles. Supplements make up the majority of this program. Some minor diet changes may also be part of it.

His assistant Suzanne is also his wife and they are both very friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. Emails were always answered promptly throughout my treatment and it was always good to have a chat at each appointment. In hindsight, it was those visits that actually kept me motivated to continue, because progress was so limited. I was advised of the cost of treatment and that recovery takes approximately as many months as the numbers of years I had been ill. That made it 15 months which I decided was fine and affordable.

The initial consultation involved being tested via a biofeedback method. A piece of metal was placed near my collar bone and he proceeded to test a number of different vials through the system. I understand that the vial is added to the circuit, which includes me, and a result is produced. For example, if I had a gut infection and a vial containing that infection was added, then the machine would let the operator know and he or she could then decide what course of action to take.

I found this fascinating but I didn’t see any results or find out which infections or imbalances I had. I did inquire but I understood that these results could only be interpreted by Dr Imbeau so I trusted him with this. This initial test showed that my overall body condition was around 60%, which I agreed with. He explained ‘what was causing what’ and it all made sense to me. I was desperate for some solutions and I didn’t have any other options on the table at that point. Any supplements provided were directly from the results of the test.

Over the years I had bought a lot of supplements so I was quite surprised when I saw the list I now needed. Spending $200 -$300 per week on supplements is definitely on the high side. This did fluctuate over time.

Imbeau Supplements

I took a couple of days to decide what to do as I felt like there were just too many supplements. And it wasn’t just a cost issue; I just thought it was too many supplements for a sick body. But I was committed to getting well and felt that this was my best option at the time.

I was desperate and vulnerable, but it was obviously my decision to go ahead. The first 6 weeks were tough going and I considered pulling out but Suzanne encouraged me to keep going and I’m glad that she did.

A month later I was tested again and according to Dr Imbeau, there had been some improvements. We had been concentrating on getting my gut working again and this involved killing some unhelpful bacteria. According to Dr Imbeau, I was doing well and working my way through these issues. I knew that getting better was always going to take  a long time but over the following months I felt I could have been doing more in other aspects of my life, such as a stricter diet, saunas, and perhaps some form of meditation or lifestyle changes. I kept searching for these.

The supplements and testing seemed to be going well but I also understood that what happened in between monthly visits was also very important. To rely solely on supplements and minor diet changes was in my opinion, not a complete recovery program, and I felt I was missing a few pieces of the puzzle.

Imbeau Supplements

I persisted for nearly a year and it was a lot of hard work for very little gain. Each appointment I turned up quite demoralized but after being tested again, receiving good results and talking to both Dr Imbeau and Suzanne, I felt encouraged to continue. By this time I had spent around $7500 on consultation and supplements and was beginning to realise that this couldn’t go on for too much longer as I hadn’t been well for over a decade and had very little income and had spent a lot already on trying to get well. If I was to recover in ’15 months’ then I needed a miracle to happen over the next 3 months. At the rate I was going, there was just no way this was going to happen. There were no black and white results to see what improvements I had made and what else had to be done. That’s why I am now very supportive of properly interpreted Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis.

Dr Imbeau’s interpretation was telling us that I was physically about 90% well, but I certainly didn’t feel it. I was still down at 60-65%. I had definitely got rid of some niggling symptoms but generally I was still in really bad shape. I felt like I had improved about 5% but I couldn’t even be sure of that at times.

At this rate I was going to be here for another couple of years and potentially spend over $20000 which I just didn’t have. If I had been making good progress and feeling like I was really getting somewhere and still had complete confidence in the program, then I probably would have continued. But I couldn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel and after much thought and discussion, I decided to finish treatment.

Dr Imbeau was open to any other ideas that I had and we discussed adding other treatment options. The problem was that the primary program was not working that well for me and trying to find and incorporate other modes of treatment was beyond me.

I needed more measurable results and control over my own health. Too much of it relied on Dr Imbeau and the machine. The biofeedback method was a mystery and something just didn’t feel right about the overall program. Too much depended on the testing procedure and these cryptic results that only Dr Imbeau could interpret.

We did achieve a small amount and I learnt a few things but it was obvious I needed a more holistic and thorough program with multiple and complimentary modes of treatment that I had responsibility and control over. I learnt not to give that much responsibility and control to one person. I don’t think it’s healthy to have a ‘healing God’ if that’s the right way to put it. It’s asking for disappointment down the road.

If I keep seeing good results with what I am doing now then I think Dr Imbeau’s program could be adapted and would then stand a much better chance of helping people get well. In terms of support, they were great; but it’s the results that really matter. Apparently he has had a lot of success but I am yet to see any genuine testimonials online or talk to anyone who suffered from similar issues. A big factor for me was that it was just too expensive in the end. The cost/benefit ratio was not good in my experience. Paying this much isn’t necessary.

As I did not undergo any serious dental work, I cannot comment on this area of the business. Due to Dr Imbeau’s very professional attitude and setup, I suspect he would have many happy customers.

I will edit this Dr Jacques Imbeau Review if I have anymore beneficial information to add.  JH – May 23, 2014.

3rd Re-Test

I’m feeling stronger so I was surprised to see all four levels decrease. I didn’t understand that this is actually a positive result. Testing four lows on a retest is different to testing four lows on a first test. What is happening here is referred to as a ‘settling down’ pattern and means that my body is starting to heal in a more normal fashion. I’m out of the ‘stuck in mud up to my shoulders’ stage, and making good progress. It feels like the worst might be over.

4LowsRetest

After listening to the analysis, it became clear that my body needs to do certain things in ‘four lows’ before it can move on. Without knowing this, just looking the chart would have been discouraging. It’s not possible to force my body out of ‘four lows’.

Other positive results were that copper levels have normalized and other heavy metals such as lead and mercury are decreasing. Also, my important ratios are normalizing so overall it’s good news. It’s taking a while but after 15 years of struggling it’s actually happening relatively quickly.

My original full test and audio can be seen HERE.

Overall, this is good news but there is more work to be done.

Symptom Checkup

It’s hard to believe I had all these symptoms. I was told they were mainly due to some sort of psychosomatic disorder or mental illness which I actually believed for a long time. Medication and more rest was their primary treatment solution offered. These ‘hard to diagnose’ chronic illnesses are a nightmare for mainstream doctors. I understand that they have been taught a certain way and they must adhere to that protocol.

Simple, relatively low cost and ‘common-sense’ treatments are working well for me. What I consider to be ‘Dark Age’ treatments such as counselling and medication aren’t required.

Over the course of 15 years, I was diagnosed with the following:

Post-Viral Chronic Fatigue, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Somatoform/Psychosomatic Illness, Depression, Various Anxiety Disorders, Suspected Chronic Mercury Poisoning, Copper Toxicity, ‘Four Lows’ Mineral Imbalance, Severe / Chronic Exhaustion, Adrenal Fatigue / Exhaustion, Systemic Candida, Parasite Overgrowth.

It’s possible I had all of those ‘disorders’, but there has to be some underlying cause or causes. As I get better, those causes are becoming more obvious; although I realise I will probably never be able to confidently say that one thing or another was responsible for my poor health. It seems that it is a combination of factors that come together to create a perfect storm. Genetics, toxins, upbringing, bad luck, the way of the world….who really knows? The main thing is that I’m improving consistently, and that is what is important.

SYMPTOMS:

Disappearing:

Heart palpitations

Joint and muscle pain/stiffness has all but gone.

Bouts of Nausea

Hypertension – my body feels more relaxed

Emotionally resilient – no longer ‘super sensitive’

Food cravings

Breathing regulation – no more ‘stop start’ type thing.

Chronic Sinusitis – 90% gone

Muscle twitching – eyelids and fingers mainly

Irritability – I don’t over react any more.

Digestive issues have settled down. Things are more regular.

Chemical Sensitivities – I don’t gag on car exhaust and cigarette smoke any more.

Headaches – can’t remember the last one I had.

Muscle tenderness

Blood sugar swings / Hypoglycaemia. Better tolerance to cold.

I can sit still for more than 2 minutes; in fact I crave quiet time now.

Temperature regulation – no more shivering  and sweating at the same time

Circulation issues – no more tingly arms.

Struggling to explain things to people; general confusion.

Fearfulness.

Much Improved:

Brain Fog – my mind is clearing.

Extreme Fatigue – it seems my flat battery is finally recharging.

Sleeping – I haven’t slept this well in ten years. Feels like sleep is actually working.

Nervous system is much stronger – not so jumpy.

Tinnitus – this isn’t driving me nuts as much.

Malabsorption – food feels like it’s reviving me instead of just keeping me alive.

Feelings of unreality, spaced out, zombie like. Separate world to everyone else.

Appetite better and enjoying food more.

Speech – I can find the words I need now. Not sure where they went.

Carbohydrate Intolerance and foods in general.

Skin Rashes

Short term Memory and Cognitive Ability

Anxiety and Depression – anything from chronic to severe are a thing of the past.

Poor balance and co-ordination

Adrenal function – I can stand up quickly without getting ‘the dizzies’

Joints and are working better – not so much pain and ‘popping’.

Muscles are strengthening.

Just happier, find myself laughing more, personality returning.

Posture – no longer arched forward, I’m ‘straightening up’

Not so ‘lost’ any more – I’m getting to know myself.

My core minerals are re-balancing – no longer dangerously low.

Avoiding social situations – it was just too hard to fit in.

I’m making better decisions, based on good health instead of ego and material gain.

Still lurking:

A small percentage of many of the above symptoms, they come and go less frequently.

Photo-phobia – sensitivity to light

Physical activity endurance

I still have a fair way to go but I’m making slow and steady progress.

My 3rd hair test results are due any day so I will post the results.

Best Health, John

Mercury Poisoning

The only clear thing about Mercury is that it’s a chronic problem most people don’t even know about. There is no way to accurately test your body burden of mercury. I only found out that mercury was a problem for me when I ate a lot of cilantro/coriander and eventually found out that cilantro is an excellent mobiliser of heavy metals. So it stirs things up but cannot excrete so well, therefore you feel bloody awful.

That little experiment was the start of many years trying to get rid of the mercury in me. The catch 22 is that mercury decreases your ability to properly excrete it, so once you reach this threshold, mercury just exponentially starts piling up inside. The other strange phenomenon is that it can affect one person and not touch another. And to add more confusion, the amount of different symptoms it can cause, is different for everyone.

Obviously, the first step is to remove the source, which for most people is dental amalgams. They need to be taken out by a dentist who is aware of mercury poisoning and uses all the correct gear.

The next step is getting rid of what is left inside you, and this is where you can make yourself a LOT worse. Our bodies store mercury in the safest locations possible, just waiting for an opportunity to start naturally detoxing, but it usually never gets the chance, especially if there is a constant stream coming in from amalgams.

So when you find out that a product like Cilantro ‘detox’s’ mercury, you decide that the more you take the more will come out. NO, the more you take the more mercury gets pulled out from safe places and deposited in not so safe place, potentially making you feel utterly horrendous and perhaps doing long term damage, delaying your recovery. Do not do anything until you understand the topic very well. It would be better to do nothing for weeks or months than dive into whatever supplements promises ‘heavy metal detox’

While natural products like Cilantro and Chlorella are used for detoxing, there just hasn;t been enough study and research to know exactly what each individual might need, and that’s why people take the ‘do it yourself’ approach.

Chelation therapy with DMSA and DMPS are becoming more common but still,  most people decide their own doses. Tiny doses are the key here. Slow going is the only way.

Examples might be:

DMSA: 10mg (even 5mg) Taken every 3 to 4 hours for 3 days, then rest for 3-7 days.

DMPS: 5mg, every 6-10 hours for 3 to 7 days, then rest for same time.

Supplements are also recommended. This protocol is based on Andy Cutler’s approach. The regular doses are designed to keep the drugs at certain levels so that they don’t spike down before spiking up again. These chemical don’t remove everything they mobilise so there will always be some mercury flowing around your system. These stops and starts have to be kept to a minimum to avoid redistribution.

First things first – Remove your amalgams safely and get a hair test to see what exactly is going on with your metabolism and see what your heavy metals levels are. Don’t even think about taking any ‘products’ yet. Some practitioners believe that if we follow the correct program, chelation therapy (natural or synthetic) is not required. Diet, correct sauna therapy, supplementation and a few other therapies will allow your body to excrete these metals naturally.

Nearly Gave Up while Retracing..

I have just got through a month of Retracing (or Healing Crisis). I really couldn’t do to much at all and I felt miserable. After a few weeks of this, just like last time, I began to lose faith in my program. I started to question whether the supplements were doing more harm than good. As soon as this lack of faith starts to kick in, it can be a matter of hours before I decide to give up and just stop everything. But I hung in there; staying as calm as possible and just ‘watching’ the symptoms. That is the key, either I reacted negatively to the retracing, adding unnecessary stress, or gracefully continue with what has worked up to this point.

I may have lowered some supplement doses and done some more symptom support, but I stayed true to course.

About a week after this turning point, I came out of it feeling better than before it started.

It takes so long to get use to just quietly dealing with symptoms instead of forcing them to go. We are programmed to believe than and pain or suffering isn’t good and it must be relieved immediately by any means. It’s actually an unhealthy way to go because our bodies never get to do the healing work they are designed to do. We constantly kick the can down the road and can’t understand why we never feel vibrant; always on the lookout for something to stimulate us out of our stupor, like coffee and carbs or dull the pain with booze.

So hang in there and have faith in the program, even if you feel worse than you ever have, because it’s only temporary. Be patient and don’t react – it wastes energy and whatever you get angry with starts to have power over you. Don’t let it in.

I have my third hair re-test due back in a month so that will be interesting. I wonder if this recent retracing episode will show up on it as a dumping of copper or mercury. We’ll see.
